HCJFS SNAP processing is among the best of the last 20 years, according to a recent review.

The Food and Nutrition Service conducted a Program Access Review of HCJFS’ Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in March.

The result was very good and resulted in the least amount of corrective action required from an Ohio metro county in at least 20 years.

About 132,000 Hamilton County Residents received food assistance each month in 2015.

The review was to ensure that SNAP is operated in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, that good customer service is being provided, and that barriers to participation by eligible households are minimized.

HCJFS Chief Operating Officer Tim McCartney said recently that the corrective actions that were required minor and that most issues have been resolved.
